ECHODA presented at DKV Conference 2025

ECHODA Research Project Presented at DKV Conference 2025: Advancing Refrigeration Technology

Magdeburg, November 21, 2025 – The German Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference (DKV) 2025, held in Magdeburg, once again proved its significance as a leading platform for innovation in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump technology. Over 550 experts from academia and industry gathered from November 19 to 21 to discuss the latest developments. This year, the ECHODA research program was presented by Kevin Wimmer and Jan Kummer.

In their presentation the researchers demonstrated how simulation, precise measurements and innovative control techniques can significantly improve the energy efficiency of household appliances. Their works are setting new standards for the development of more efficient cooling systems.

The ECHODA program focuses on optimizing heat exchangers and refrigeration cycles. The findings could not only reduce energy consumption but also extend the lifespan of appliances. "Our research shows that even small adjustments in control technology can have a major impact on efficiency," Wimmer explained during the presentation.

Beyond technical presentations, the DKV Conference provided opportunities for networking and exchange between established experts and young researchers. Over 100 students showcased their own projects. The event also included technical tours, a plenary lecture, and the awarding of the DKV Study Prize to emerging talents such as Cerrigan Rose and Niels Peters from TU Dresden.

With programs like ECHODA, the industry is highlighting its contribution to the energy transition. The DKV Conference 2025 made it clear: innovation and collaboration are key to overcoming future challenges.
